Laura Marie Jones is a professional photographer specializing in the art of portraiture. Her style is a balance of realism and fine art. Laura was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in the gorgeous landscapes of Marietta. In 2001, her life-long dream of enrolling in the Ringling School of Art and Design was realized. As a student, Laura was awarded the honor of the prestigious Best of Ringling exhibitions in 2004 and 2005. In the spring of 2005, she received a Bachelor's Degree In Photography And Digital Imaging. After graduation, her work was chosen to be included in an exhibition of The Atlanta Photography Group entitled “Emerging Visions”. During an exhibition in Nevada, Laura won first place in the 54th Annual “Art Roundup” Juried Exhibition at the Las Vegas Art Museum, an affiliate of The Smithsonian Institution. Since then, she has gone on to do a number of different gallery group shows across the country.

Currently, Laura is working as a QA Digital Imaging Photo Finishing Specialist for a upscale photo lab, to hone her skills in the art of printing in color while building her knowledge of the art of black and white. Recently, Laura assembled a detailed color catalogue for Phoenix Orthodontics in North Georgia. She has also been customizing photo shoots for local individuals and businesses on a regular basis. She also enjoys the art of landscape photography. During 2007, Laura took a trip to Yosemite, California and Bodie, Nevada to further develop her landscape photography skills. Due to the success of her Yosemite trip, Laura is planning several other trips in the near future to prepare a new body of work on the National Parks and Nature Preserves of the American West.
